May is here! Time to have fun, make memories, and celebrate with warm weather as a family. We're kicking off the summer celebrations with 12 May holidays you can celebrate with your little ones. 

May Day (May 1st):

Celebrate the arrival of spring with May Day festivities such as dancing around the Maypole or making flower crowns. This day represents the halfway mark between the spring equinox and summer solstice. It's the perfect day to wear your most twirl-worthy dress and dance!

Star Wars Day (May 4th):

May the 4th be with you! Today the Star Wars fandom celebrates the franchise in all it's forms. Have a Star Wars-themed movie marathon, dress up as favorite characters, or engage in Star Wars-related crafts and activities. Keep the celebrations going to the next day with Revenge of the Fifth!

Cinco de Mayo (May 5th):

More popular in the United States than in Mexico, Cinco de Mayo has become associated with the celebration of Mexican-American culture. Introduce it to your kids with colorful decorations, traditional music, and tasty Mexican cuisine like tacos and quesadillas.

Teacher Appreciation Week (May 6th-10th):

We would be nothing without our great teachers! Let's honor our educators with Teacher Appreciation Week! Be sure to show some extra love to your little one's teachers this week with gift cards, supplies, and thank you's!

Mother's Day (May 12th):

Where would the world be without it's many great mothers? Help children show appreciation for their moms with handmade cards, breakfast in bed, or special outings. We celebrate International  Day of Families to promote the important role played by families in our lives while also reflecting on the challenges facing modern families. National Pizza Party Day (May 17th):

Who doesn't love pizza? Today is the day that's ALL about pizza! With all the different ingredient combinations, it simply needed it's own holiday. Let kids customize their own mini pizzas with their favorite toppings for a fun pizza-making party.

World Turtle Day (May 23rd):

National Picnic Day (May 25th):

Memorial Day (May 27th):

 Memorial Day is the official-unofficial start to summer vacation. But it is also a holiday with important meaning as we honor soldiers who have lost their lives for our country. Honor fallen heroes by attending a Memorial Day parade, visiting a war memorial, or participating in patriotic crafts and activities.

National Smile Day (May 31st) 
We honor this day to share with the world exactly what a healthy smile can do. Sometimes all it takes is a friendly expression to make someone's day better. Spread joy with random acts of kindness and silly activities that make everyone smile.
